Team ProfileSIS took part in the Aberdeen’s annual Baker Hughes Running Festival on May 16th raising £312.50 for a local charity, Aberdeen Cyrenians.
The 10k is a regular fixture in Aberdeen every year, bringing together runners from all over the North-East with many running for a range of good causes. Our very own Director, Russell Groves, and Marketing Manager, Paul Greene, took part in this years race, completing it with times of 45.43 mins and 57.19 mins respectively. The team took part in the run as part of the the ProfileSIS social responsibility initiative, ProGress, which aims to give back to the community as the company grows.
Aberdeen Cyrenians Depute Chief Executive, Scott Baxter, said:
“We are absolutely delighted that ProfileSIS have raised £312.50 for us with their participation in this year’s Baker Hughes 10K. Both Russell and Paul put in a fantastic effort on the day, with Russell being our third runner across the finish line, a fantastic achievement for his first 10K run.
We have recently become ProfileSIS’s charity partner for the year and look forward to working with the team in future to do everything we can to help those facing homelessness and hardship in the North-East.”
The Aberdeen Cyrenians are a charity who aim to meet the needs of people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or affected by homelessness in any way by providing advice and information, emotional support and practical items such as food parcels, a hot meal service, clothing items and access to laundry and shower facilities. The charity also has a social enterprise and a campaign against domestic abuse which offers to support to women, men and families who are experiencing domestic abuse.
